Quality of pizza on college campuses

I think there is some unwritten mandate for every pizza company that says if your store is located on a college campus its ok and encouraged to make the crappiest, worst quality pizza possible.

Seriously, even national chain places like pizza hut, dominoes, and papa johns, which boast consistency no matter the location, all have the worst quality pizza on campus. Yet take a 20 min drive in any direction to another location and the pizza is much better quality. I really don't understand why they think they can get away with such shoddy quality. I ordered pizza hut and dominoes this month and it has been the worst quality I've ever seen from them.

Did you just use the words "Pizza Hut", "Domino's", and "quality" in the same sentence?

For quality pizza, it has to be made in a brick oven and made by Italians. And it has to be thin crust with the freshest and finest cheese and toppings. Once you've had that, no matter how much you desire pizza, you won't go to any chain.

Just WOW! So how does that make you feel? :p:

I had a similar experience in July and Aug. when I was living on the University of Alabama campus. Man, these people could not cut hair if their life depended on it. So there's a little empathy for ya. ;)

^This or NYC style pizza. To me, most chains are average.

Exactly, c'mon now - ya get what ya pay for.

The pizza around where I went to college was the best I have had from chain places. Much better than what I typically get now.

I just went to a pizza place called Slices last night on Arizona State's campus and it was absolutely delicious.

Had that and I still prefer deep dish, had Chicago pizza thin and think crust and many other Pizzas in between. Had New York style pizza blah blah blah. It is all preferences

Probably because they make a billion pizzas per night and know that drunks don't care about the actual taste.

Hey, the Dominos "Our pizzas don't suck anymore, pizzas" aren't all that bad.

Those are my favorite, actually. I don't get what you're saying. I went to college, and the pizza in my town wasn't any worse than normal. I have visited many other college campuses, and had pizza. Guess what. It was freaking delicious, like ALL PIZZA. C'mon son!

Pizza is relative...

ALL pizza is good, some better than others...

Do you like Chicago style or NY style? It doesn't matter... delicious delicious pizza is the bomb... and delicious...

Enjoy and quit yer *****in'... ;)

I love generalized thoughts like these lmao.

In any case, the pizza around the Texas Tech campus is
