I found this to be very interesting. In the last 25 years, here the list of all the quarterbacks the Cowboys have drafted.

2020 Ben DiNucci 7th round
2018 Mike White Western Kentucky 5th round
2016 Dak Prescott Mississippi State 4th round
2009 Stephen McGee Texas A&M 4th round
2007 Isaiah Stanback Washington 4th round
2001 Quincy Carter Georgia 2nd round

That's it. Now listen,we are talking about the most important position in football and that's all you got to show for it?

I wonder how that stacks up with the rest of the NFL? probably right at the bottom
Unfortunately the success of Romo and Dak makes Jethro think you do not have to use a high pick on a QB.

Well, neither one of the them got us past the divisional round in the playoffs. Romo didn't seem to have the talent around him that dak has had.

They got lucky with Romo and Prescott.

Romo was a Parcells pick, I believe. Dak is broken down and is an average qb in decline.
Go look at the 2016 draft. Dak wasn't average. How many qbs were taken in that draft? How was Dak average in that group?

When he was healthy, he was average. His strength was his mobility. He lost that when his leg got messed up a few years ago. His passing ability has never been all that great. I don't believe he'll last much longer.

16 qbs were taken in the 2016 draft. The only one better than Dak was Goff. Most of them aren't playing anymore. Average them out and see what you get.

I agree with you that the future doesn't look good for Dak. He can't run anymore.

Romo and Dak didn't win a Super Bowl. How did they get lucky?
A UDFA and a 4th rd pick one after the other being franchise QBs? and its a real reach to whine about this and then not acknowledge that both QB suffered under the reign of BIg and LIttle Enos. Tell me that qbs like Johnson and Dilfer and Flacco and others are really any better and they all have rings.
Both of them were good enough to win SBs if the team had a better GM and better coaching.
You look at those teams that won with less than elite QB play and what did they all have in common? Much better organization.

In the mind of Jethro getting quality QB play from udfa and low picks means he never has to spend a high one on.
AND REMEMBER: before Dak was chosen he wanted Paxton Lynch and then Connor Cooke. Dak was his third choice.

He also wanted "Johnny Football" 2 years prior.

There have been so many rumors about that. From it was 'all talk' to Stephan supposedly confronting him and telling him
"Dad, you cannot do this"
Jethro talked Johnny Football up a lot prior to the draft. Was that talk or did it have substance. Knowing his love of shiny toys I think there was substance to that, how much is the question

Well you know Jerry wants to prove he is smarter than everybody. He says he's the best person there is to run this team.
