Question Re: firewalls and torrent file downloads

When downoading/seeding torrent files, what is the minimum amount of disabling I must do to my Norton and/or Windows firewalls? I'm a bit nervous about letting down the defenses, but I realize it's the only way, especially if I want it to download in less than a week!
