Ekuban is out for the year. They need a DE. A mere 7th rounder or DB scrub would seal the deal for me. I doubt if even Denver would offer a contingent 7th rounder for him. That shows you the value of Ellis now. Anyone think Ellis could fetch a 7th rd pick from a desperate team? It is looking more and more like Ellis will be waived injured with an injury settlement.

I dont hink that way he talks about his injury would be very helpful in him passing a physical. His value is at its lowest point right ow it would be foolish to trade him.

Yeah I'm sure the Broncos would be all over this trade.

Just what they need... replace a DE with an achilles injury with another DE with an achilles injury.

Side note: If that trade did happen (it won't) that would give the broncos two former cowboys first round picks (at DE) from North Carolina, both with achilles injuries.

No way would Denver would make trade. They need a starter now, not maybe 2 months down the road. But, even more important, I don't see the Cowboys even being interested in trading him. While I had hoped he would be ready to play a few weeks ago, I've got no problem (what choice do we have) with the Cowboys simply waiting to give him more time to heal. Despite what some of you want to believe, we really do need a healthy Ellis to return to play at OLB. The Cowboys simply aren't going to cut him and give him an injury settlement.

I don't think they even need a starter now. Surely their 1st round pick can start at DE.

why do people want to pretend other teams are just too stupid to breathe, so they'd do stupid things like this?

makes me wonder.

Wouldn't the possibility that Ellis may play again be worth more than a 7th rounder? How many 7th rounders even make a team let alone ever play? Ellis might still have something left, and just a chance of that would make it worth keeping him. Besides, why would the Broncos want someone with so many question marks?

I think we should re-sign Dexter Coakley.

At least then we could have Trade Coakley threads instead.

.........sounds just like how we used to be with QB's who played Baseball
