This isn't the first time a team did this to us under Quinn. Quinn's defenses are predicated on rushing the passer I get it. However you can't let a team do what Arizona did in the first half today. It was ridiculous. They were throwing a ton of misdirection against us, and it's like we weren't ready for it. Nobody maintained gap control. It's happened for years now, whether it be Philly, SF, the rams under goff. Can't let it continue to happen.

Second half we were better... but my question is. Why did it take an entire half to make that adjustment? You knew Arizona was going to come out and do what it did. Thats their game. dobbs only had to throw the ball 21 times. You make him throw the ball more we win that game.

Quinn had little to do with it

The sacks are great. But this defense is so obsessed with rushing the passer that any good offensive coordinator will use it against them.

They are always jumping offsides because they want to pad the stat sheet with those sacks.

Like u said, misdirection kills this defense. And if you can get a good running game going, this defense is average at best.

First half he did. Absolutely. Guys over running plays, not maintaining gap assignments. Getting gashed in the run. It's like they didn't watch any cardinals film.
And guys over running plays are his fault?

Its like they didn't do their job.

Quinn had a heck of lot to do with it....he calls the defensive plays....he is the DC...and ultimately his responsibility to put the players in the best situation to win....and 180 rushing yards in the 1st half....that says it all
So he called plays to allow them to run for 180? Lol

Did you even watch the game?

So your one of these blame the coach and not the players bozos?

I really didn't understand what we were doing in the first half. Everyone was just pinning their ears back trying to get to the QB. They were leaving huge running lanes open. You had to know they were going to establish the run game early on. They switched it up at the half but it was basically too late by then.

Why the Cards had over 200 yards rushing about like the Rams PO game several years ago. Some things never changes.

My point on this thread is you knew the cardinals weren't going to let dobbs throw it a lot.... they were going to take safe throws with him. Rollouts, or take shots one on one deep. Which they did. The other half the time they were going to run all this misdirection.

Why is it Quinns fault, because second half we made a sort of adjustment and maintained our gaps. First half we didn't, when we knew that what the cards gameplan would be. Why weren't we doing what we did in the second half in the first?

Primarily rush the passer against a team using misdirection and a strong running game? Wasn't smart.

This, and he didn’t throw a lot (bus driver) and didn’t need to do much with over 200 rushing. Similar to the Colts game several years ago and Andrew Luck was under 200 yards passing and they won from running the ball down our throats.

Yes misdirection and no huddles offenses are a past pain .. but we seem to have bigger concerns as we
have Not solved the past run defense issues.

And Hankins played, so we have no excuses to try to use .. we simply got man handled in the trenches.

I don't know if it was more the coaches or players who underestimated the Arizona offense but that is exactly what happened along the DL. Arizona used their aggressiveness against them and made them look sloppy. And then people saw what this offense really is when the defense isn't dominating generating turnovers.
