Thus far in this up and down season, I've learned many things, but I think the most important of them I finally learned yesterday, and I hope this organization did too.
"It's About Us"
It's not about the opponent, it's about the Cowboys.
'We" are the only team that beats "us".
With sloppy, disorganized, play.
With unnecessary penalties.
With ill-advised attempts to be superstars rather than sound football plays.
We can play 'up' to the level of dominating an excellent Texans team who throttled the AFC Champions in Week One.
And we can play 'down' to the level of the Commanders, who were outplayed by the Rams yesterday.
It's not about talent level, as this team has clearly shown that they have that quality in abundance, it's about playing smart fundamental football and not beating yourself.
If this team and coaching staff can learn and understand this simple concept, I think this team can get to where it wants to go.
While there are still plenty of areas for improvement. yesterday's win was a good start in that direction.
