This game was like a recruiting battle for Mike Leach. Both would be attractive programs for him

He is rumored to be one of the candidates, as is Sonny Dykes who was on OC here, Paul Chryst, and a lot of speculation Greg Byrne will try to go get his friend Chris Peterson from Boise State. Stoops made 1.4 million per year. Byrne has up to 15 million to work with. He could make Peterson one hell of an offer. Dont be so sure that any coach could make more money at UCLA. The athletic department has been cheap in hiring coaches. UCLA does not include housing in their compensation packages and they do not allow any boosters to add any monies to a coaches contract. Add in the cost of the on going construction of the new Pauly Pavilion that the athletic department has taken on and it gives them a good excuse to continue to do business as usual.
