Honestly, that would be a pretty shrewd strategy on Jerry's part. Let McClay leave, fill his position with another minority candidate looking to showcase his GM skills, and let the draft picks roll in year after year.

Well it sounds like we wouldn’t get any draft picks for promoting Mcclay. It sounds like it only happens when you lose a minority to another team.
