They would gladly fleece the Jones' for an aging star while they rebuilt a team that could actually win something.

I believe they are totally willing to tear it all down. Not a shot at Stafford or anyone else on that team but they achieved the goal. They can't repeat that success so it makes sense to sell off as many assets as you can and put new pieces into the puzzle and hope you can get back to a solid roster that you can then make bold moves in an effort to get over the hump again.

Thanks for putting a question mark in your title.
:thumbup:

Lombardi put that out there and multiple sources have said he's full of it;
Probably should’ve gone with “Rumor: Rams trying to trade Stafford?”

It looks like the Rams have gotten themselves stuck with Stafford:

“Although Stafford has a manageable cap figure of $20 million in 2023, trading him would have sparked a $48 million dead-money charge for 2023. Which is reason alone for Stafford to not be traded now.

Next year, the Stafford cap number spikes to $49.5 million. A trade before June 1 would trigger a $55.5 million cap hit.”
