... just a few things that I wanted to share from today's game

... hated seeing Parcells go for 2. I really thought Tuna was to old school to do that at that juncture of the game, could have sworn that was Chan Gailey on the sideline. I really think it's bush league to go chasing points at that point in a ballgame ... always have always will. Color me shocked ... I *****ed all game long to my best friend about that one, even before we missed it.

... I'm disappointed overall with TO so far in Dallas. I've waited half a season here so I didn't make any rash comments ... but damn I expected more. He claims to be all world, hell almost everyone claims that about him, but he's been less than that for us so far. He's no Irvin. Irvin showed up every game, every snap. And when the chips were down 88 was at his best ... I miss those days. TO's dropped more passes in a half a season then it would take Irvin to accumulate during 3 full seasons. I know he's had his moments ... but dang I expected more. Didn't you?

... I'm tickled pink with Romo. I don't know what his presence will mean this year, since this is a team that seems to love to shoot itself in the foot to much to do anything tangible but golly I'm hopeful for the future. This kid has it ... I swear he does. Good things are in our future ... don't know whether that's immediate or not.

... mistakes my god the mistakes. There is just something about this team that just makes the football gods frown isn't there? It's not talent ... we have that in spades ... it's something else. Don't know if that can be corrected this season. We''ll see.

... obviously a heart stopping loss. A season killing type of loss, there's no hiding from it. I'm not giving up, don't misunderstand me ... but damn this is starting to become a trend. Wait a sec check that ... it is a trend. We find a way to lose not win when it's close. In the salary cap era that makes all the difference. What has made the Patriots this era's superpower? You better bring it every game cause they aren't beating themselves. This team is just the opposite right now, and until they get it corrected ... well you know the rest ... we are what we are.

... bought alot of drinks for Commanders fans at the bar today ... sometimes you have to eat your crow. Congrats to the Commanders fans on this board who deserve it ... you know who you are.

Good post.

It almost seemed like Parcells got caught up in Romo's play when he went for two. Not sure if that's an ignorant statement on my part, but after seeing him go 2-for-2 on two-point attempts in past weeks and move the ball with ease, it seemed to me like that might have been the case -- as if he felt the timing was right to go against his better judgment.

As for TO, I have mixed feelings. He's done some great things here. Six touchdowns already -- have we had anyone with more than that during a 16 game season, much less in eight games? Everyone knew he had dropsies when we signed him. It's one of his bigger flaws as far as his playing goes. When it rains, it pours...and it did that today and on numerous occasions this year.

I expected much more from him in terms of how he'd impact the team. His "distraction" factor isn't really any worse than I anticipated -- but then, the whole team has performed worse than I anticipated. Drops happen (look at Key last week). His are just magnified because he opens his mouth too much.

And I agree on Romo. The guy has something special to him. It'll take seasons before we "really" know what he's made of; but, my gosh, he looks like he could be a good one. It's appearing like he's a pretty difficult player to force into mistakes. And even when he does goof, he comes right back firing the next play.

Thx.

This might be one of those seasons where we are relegated to sitting back and watching for the future. I'm not there yet but I can see it getting to that point quick with this team. And even though that would suck, damn it's comforting to feel like you might finally have your guy at QB, isn't it? Finding the right guy at that position is worth several seasons worth of floundering because a good QB can spell success for a team for a good decade ... and I smell it.

He certainly does have a short term memory.

I think there's nothing more telling of that than how he responded last week against Carolina when we fell behind 0 - 14. Had that been Bledsoe he would have folded and would have been hearing footsteps all game long.

Romo just simply shook it off, responded, and delivered. And he delivered yet again today all game long.. it's just a shame that the rest of our team didn't.
