Yeah right. The dude was so over his head as a HC!
They never wanted Mark. Just like Pats didn’t want Mayo. You can tell when a guy is hired just to get fired soon after. The coaching pool wasn’t as good last year….they suck get a top pick and now they can get a Flores or a Ben Johnson or a Kubiak.Hm as crazy as Mark is he knew he wanted to make a change after 1 year. Jerry still doesn't know if he likes Mike after 5.
You may be right about the raiders maybe they went into it knowing it was a short leash longshot to be a multi year deal for the HC, I dunno. They never wanted Mark. Just like Pats didn’t want Mayo. If you don’t have a quarterback what chances are you will even be decent?
Jerry knows what he wants to do. I think he does anyway. I think it’s all calculated.
+1-- I think this is all part Jerry's plan that started after the GB loss. They never wanted Mark. Just like Pats didn’t want Mayo. You can tell when a guy is hired just to get fired soon after. Oh, he doesn't have to reach out. There's feeding frenzy out there now with all and/or any informations about any candidates or vacancies, especially now. Ever heard of text messages? (LOL).There is also no way Jerry could quietly be reaching out to available coaches, certainly not any couch still under contract.
Exactlyconsidering tom brady owns a piece of the raiders...watch mike vrable there.
tug o war between patriots and raiders for vrable.
Forbes estimates his net worth at upwards of $16 billion. I don't think money is the issue. I think it's a deadly combination of incompetence, greed, and arrogance.+1-- I think this is all part Jerry's plan that started after the GB loss.
* He knew he was going to extend Dak, Lamb and Parsons
* He made a calculated decision to sit out free agency
* He knew his entire coaching staff had expiring contracts after 2024
* He made a caculated decision NOT to extend MM.....but too cheap to fire him and his entire staff
I will say I don't he expected the team to do as well. Certainly not well enough to force him to reconsider an MM extension.
BTW.....MM as lame-duck in context. How many fired coaches this season didn't have at least another year on their contracts. Most had at least 2 years the owners have to pay off.
One poster threw out what appeared to be an odd speculation that Jerry may not have as much money as we think. I thought it was crazy and wild but I'm not sure now to be honest.
