I think Lawrence was a pretty serious attempt. They took the most athletic, twitchy, high-ceiling rusher available after the first couple of guys taken at the top were gone. Could have gone with a "safer", more well-rounded edge but took the guy who has the most potential to be great at getting to the QB.

These staged workouts where Jerry tells his players to get half nude and work out for the press are so over-the-top cringe, it's very hard to even look at, and is insulting to people's intelligence.....even to people with the most minimal and basic of IQs (though several Zaney Zoners lap this stuff up...just like Stoopid Steven does).

Gary got paid because the Packers overpaid him.

I get it he’s ours so we are obligated to hype him but his pass rushing is not a strength of his game

Which is why I wanted to make a move on another pass rusher before the draft….or take Bain at 12 and Thieneman at 20 instead of what we did…..i just dont see Gary as a big pass rusher before guy and don’t have faith that the guys we have will be meaningful in rushing the passer really.

I was high on Bain all along, and would have been happy with him at 12 if Downs wasn’t available

Agreed. If Lawrence isn't a serious attempt at finding a pass rusher, then what is he.
