Would like to hear your suggestions. Doesn't look like there is much the team can do.
Deflating loss, but league is full of parity. It's both lines that still need to improve if we expect to out-bully San Fran or Philly. They are the only teams in the NFL that appear dominant.
Are there any moves that might pay off before we scrap the QB and Head Coach? If yesterday's game is the best the team can do, both Dak and Coach Mac are probably toast. King Jerry already declared before the game this was the bar.
Offense is still the biggest weakness, even with the D giving up 42 points to the 49ers. 49ers had 14 turnover points, and McCaffrey was held in check for the most part.
QB - Dak isn't championship material.
- No QB with much better talent is available, and doubtful they could learn the offense quick enough. This position can only be fixed in the offseason.
- Cooper Rush. Trey Lance isn't ready. Rush has proven he can ride the bus and will stumble just like Dak if the bus derails.
OL - Overrated. Never healthy.
- OL was most disappointing part of game yesterday. That was our supposed healthy unit back together again.
- Most of the best free agents on OL next year are rivals or winning teams.
- Trent Brown, Pats. Free agent next year. Maybe a 3rd-5th? Can play LT or RT. Replaces the always injured Tyron or disappointing Steele. Has had his own injuries, but appears healthy last 2 seasons.
DT/LB/S - Stopping the run.
- Weaknesses everywhere on the defense, but still a good defense. Maybe solved by a huge splash move?
- Antonie Winfield Jr., Bucs. Will take a high draft pick, probably a 1st? Proven leader. FA next year with no new contract. Enough impact to merit a move?
- Jeremy Chinn, Panthers. Can play safety, linebacker and nickel back. Fits in well with our defense. Talented enough to replace anyone and make a big difference?
- Teair Tart, Titans. Probably where Mazi will be in 2-3 years. More depth with Hankins and younger legs.
- These are all free-agents next year and tough to find teams that have tanked already because there is a lot of parity, but is there a good LB out there somewhere?
- One pipe dream (Chris Jones, Chiefs. Difficult contract negotiations. Maybe could be had for 1st round pick minimum, plus more. Would also require a huge contract offer.)
RB - Pollard struggling as lead back.
- Pollard as lead back replacing Zeke reminding me of Hambrick replacing Emmitt. Sometimes when given the load, things change.
- Derrick Henry, Titans. Can probably be had for a 4th-6th now? Was available in the offseason.
- Replaces same role Zeke had, and more insurance than Rico. He will benefit as much as Pollard splitting the carries, but can his ego handle it?
WR/TE - Playmaker.
- CeeDee is still waiting on a contract. Ferguson continues to get better. Dak is Dak. Jerry loves making a splash for franchise receivers, but maybe not worth it?
- Mike Evans, Buccaneers. Bucs are 3-1 so will be difficult to get him, but here's your big man physical receiver we lack. FA next year. Getting older. Maybe a 2nd-3rd?
- Dalton Schultz. Don't laugh. Can learn offense quickly. Only playing on a one year contract. Texans better than expected because of their rookie QB but may be up for it? Probably not worth trading for a TE though unless they get a Kittle, Kelce type which are never available.
