Reason for slow start

Garrett is trying to get the running game going with JJ. Unfortunately so far either due to lack of JJ running or the OL not opening holes in the 1st half. The running game is not working early in games. In the 2nd half the switch is to pass first and then run as the passing game opens the run.

Just my observation. Although I think against the Bills both run and passing game will be working. Final score 34-10. Dallas wins 5 in row.

The running game is not working early in games.

It's working perfectly. We are beating down and wearing out the front 7. That enables our offense to really turn it on in the 2nd half.

Yeah you should always atleast TRY and run it if you can in the 1st half. If things open up there, it will make things a lot easier.

Could be teams are game planning to make the team pass. Check out Mickey's article about "The Book". Whether its MB3 or JJ in the first half the holes aren't as gaping as they are in the 2nd half.

I think having new personnel in the OL(i.e. Davis), we're JUST getting our feet wet. There were times early in games when there were opportunities to open up holes, but either Davis or Columbo(or the FB) would have a miscommunication on an assignment. And JJ has had a couple of concussions too.

Who knows? Maybe we gelled now? I feel we could start out fast tom night.

In the Chicago game, they played alot of 8 men in the box-but unlike SD and KC, we ended up exposing their over-rated secondary, which made their D more honest.
