with the running game struggles, being 26th in YPC, this team is going to struggle when they get inside the redzone. I am not saying we need a work horse RB, but effective one and if we can't fix the running game.

inside the redzone, things are tighter, players are naturally closer to LOS, space is much tigher as the defenders have to cover less area, we are going to be forced to pass a lot and that's not a winning formula. if the defenses can stop the run with 4 or 5, and drop 6 or 7 into coverage in the redzone, passing lanes are going to be tough to come by. we will succeed some, but probably fail on many crucial conversions and end up kicking field goals, or worse, go for it and not make it.

I have a feeling we are going to be good between 20s. struggle in the redzone. end up with a lot of field goals and in games similar to NO (not necessarily a blow out), but exchange TDs for field goals.

Jerry failed yet again. specially that there was some options we could have easily gotten!!!

now, I am sure some will say this is to get ready to defend Dak, blah blah blah...its not about Dak. its about cowboys as a team not having all the pieces to be able to effectively compete with the top teams. when you don't have an elite QB, you need all the pieces and we just don't have it...and I am sure somebody will 100% say, he is highest paid blah blah blah, he should play at an elite level....

Packers, Chargers, Lions, Ravens all in top 10 right now and niners averaging 4.5 YPC, and those same teams atop the total rushing yards.....

being able to stop the run and being able to run and get a few yards when needed are key and we lack in both areas.

agreed. it's frustrating to see year in year out. reactionary (and late to react at that) and never proactive.

I’ll say this I think if they were a rebuilding team they’d be taking the right approach. You talking win now with all of these unproven players in the trenches….just not gonna work.

A big part of the problem in the redzone is we can’t run the ball and we always commit a costly penalty that puts us behind the chains. We go from a 2nd and 4 to a 2nd and 14 because of a holding call. We then end up having to throw the ball every down. A lot of teams are able to pound the ball and run it into the end zone, but we struggle with that.

Yeah been saying it since 2018. Jerry doesn't learn. Why even give Dak the contract if you aren't going to put those peices in place? He's not going to become Mahomes, but I do believe he can win. We can still build, but that may entail going "all in."

well;;, Dak's jersey's will sell. there wasn't a RB he could have signed that would have sold a lot of Jersey's.....

True, and I was stubborn. I didn't believe it was as much about money first until this off season. When he remarked on dead coaching money and refused to make a single move on his own volition this off season I finally saw the light.

If they weren't such cowards they would take a team who won 12 straight 3 years in a row and actually push their chips in. They'd move money to void years and get the players they need. The down side is there'd be a couple lean years afterwards. Jerry would rather stay somewhat relevant than risk losing seasons and money.

Well, that tends to happen when you have a mediocre QB taking up majority of the cap, rendering the FO the inability to sign actual talented players to help him out. Not to mention the QB is one read, stares down receivers, does not go through progressions, has a weak arm, poor accuracy, and is regressing to his old, abhorrent and aberrant footwork.

No RB’s with redeeming qualities (none of them have speed, elusiveness, size, power, strength, etc.)

1 good WR, which can easily be stopped when no one else on the field is dominant enough to concern opposing defenses. (Ceedee will likely be double or even triple teamed in such cases)

And poor coaching decisions from the OC who has no idea what to do, and a HC that is a coward and has no faith in his offense, forcing him to send out the field goal kicker even in 70 yard cases.
