I don't understand this. So if you know let's say LB/RB was a hindrance to your season, why wouldn't you plan to get that in the draft, instead of spilling all this mumbo jumbo? I don't get this line of talking from this team. I know you DON'T want to spill your hand to other teams, but this is when you just hush up and DRAFT. If it means not to REACH then just say that! Please give your thoughts

LB earlier than RB. I'd say OL earlier than RB. To me it seemed like the RB problems stemmed from the defense getting into the back field on like 70% of the runs, and there not being any open lanes. In 2022 season, Pollard had some pretty big holes to run through and was rarely hit in back field. He might get hit at the line and fight for some extra yards, but this year it felt like he was hit before the line and had to fight for 1-2 yard gain or even limit the loss to 1-2 yards.

True but maybe on your post, you need to take out that B from LB, and insert an O, for OL

I truly think that the change to the blocking scheme to one that relied on quite a few moving parts and pullers in order to make lanes is largely responsible. Hopefully they will revert back to what was working with this group previously.

Dallas had three All-Pros on the offensive line this season. For the run game to be as bad as it was is unacceptable.

In the first three rounds I want some combination of LB, OL (C or T), RB. I would even be fine with two LB or OL.

To be fair, a good enough O-line will make any RB look like champion.

i think you have to balance drafting for need versus value like ceedee dropping and also take into account depth of positions in the draft. it isn't a one way is the absolute right way all the time approach.

Draft BPA - Best Player Available regardless of position.

All teams factor need and talent. Needs in Sept through Dec are not known at the time of the draft. Players get hurt in camp and during the season.

It always depends on the situation, but I will say that in 2020 I'm extremely happy the Cowboys played their board instead of drafting for need. The need pick would have been Chaisson....not good. The play your board pick was Lamb...big win. I'd rather be too deep at a position rather than reach for a lesser player with a higher chance of a bust.

The only time I wouldn't draft straight from my board is that either I have two guys with very close rankings ill go with the bigger need, or if I simply cant get a player on the field because hes completely blocked, which typically means a QB pick.

I think if you go into an offseason with a massive hole at a position and completely ignore that hole until the draft you're not setting your team up for success. Bottom line is just come away from the draft with good players and sort everything out after.

See last years draft, selected Mazi Smith in the first round because of Need, selected Schoonmaker in the second round because of need, Drafted Overshown in the third round because of need....Looking back, it was a clear mistake...You fill out your roster in free agency to protect yourself and in the draft select best player available regardless of position

But you ask jerry and stephen, free agency isn't the way you build your team

We definitely need another tight end in the second round. And then another midget at running back so we can have two of them. And add another undersized linebacker. Can't have enough of those.

Ideally you plug your holes and draft BPA eary in the draft keeping positional value in mind.

This last draft is an example of what NOT to do.

OL/DL and WR are always a need. They should always be priority.

I don't believe in BPA entirely, but I do believe in BPA at a premium position.
