So we lose Hankins unfortunately, but we replace him with another guy of his size. In years past, we need a space taker, we end up getting a guy that's 6'2 298lbs. I'm glad they're making a better effort to fill this need with a player of the same size/or close!

Is this the Jones, or is it someone like Mike, or Quinn?? Please give your thoughts...

I definitely appreciate having some bigger dudes in the middle. Back in the days when we had Hayden and the two Crawford’s I would cringe.

Exactly, and they did nothing to address it knowing it was the problem
it was like when the O line fell apart and you had Jerry saying Phil Costa was a NFL starter quality center.
And then a bunch of other scrubs that supposedly they would 'develope'
Jerry picks a part of the team to ignore every couple of years; sometimes longer as it has been with the DT's.

...I imagine the Run D philosophy is. Big bodies in middle, taking up space. Allowing LB/s to hunker down to LOS.

Se we went out got 6'5 350lb DT Anthony Rush.

Big fatties who can actually make an impact are hard to find. And fans never realize what they actually do since it doesn’t always show up in the stats
A big fatty who gets stats is extremely hard to find

They can bring in as many big bodies as they want, but it still comes down to can they play. The run game in 2022 is too sideline to sideline for the 350lb immovable object type DTs to really be difference makers on size alone. A couple years ago the Cowboys had Dontari Poe, but by the time he got to the Cowboys he didn't move well at all and teams just shielded him off and ran around him with ease.

The size doesn't hurt, dont get me wrong, but I do have a suspicion the Cowboys were interested in signing a player who has spend the last month or so sitting in defensive meetings of the team that is their biggest hurdle to a superbowl.
