Report: Cleveland Browns close to trade for Eagles CB Sheldon Brown and LB Chris Gocong
By Mary Kay Cabot, The Plain Dealer

CLEVELAND -- The Browns are close to completing a trade with the Eagles that would send disgruntled cornerback Sheldon Brown and linebacker Chris Gocong to Cleveland in exchange for draft picks and possibly a player, sources told CBS Sports' Clark Judge.
The deal would be contingent on Brown, 31, signing a new contract with the Browns. Browns general manager Tom Heckert was involved in drafting Brown -- a second-round pick out of South Carolina in 2002 -- and spent eight years with him in Philly.
Last April, Brown demanded a trade when the Eagles refused to renegotiate his contract, which had four years remaining. The Eagles didn't cave, and Brown went on to have a Pro Bowl-caliber season -- with a career-high five interceptions, including one for a touchdown. He also returned a fumble for a TD.
Brown, who didn't show up for the Eagles voluntary workouts this week, would start opposite Eric Wright.
Gocong, a third-round pick in 2006, started at outside linebacker for the Eagles most of the last three seasons, but lost his starting job late last season to rookie Moise Fokou.
Gocong, who signed his one-year tender last week, would play inside for the Browns, according to Judge.
