A dangerous interior force on the defensive line at 6’1″, 299 pounds, Rankins has been known to wreak havoc on opposing offenses in his time at Louisville. He is coming off a 2015 season where he racked up 58 tackles over 13 games, including 13 tackles for a loss, one pass deflection, and six sacks. That impact earned him All-ACC Third Team honors from the media.
Consistency is not an issue with Rankins; those numbers were on the heels of a strong 2014 performance of 53 tackles (13.5 for loss), two interceptions and eight sacks. Whether is was an odd or even front, Rankins just flat out got the job done as a secondary pass rush threat. That is something he would also have the luxury of being in Dallas should they acquire him in the draft this April...
