Knox Nunnally. who played for the Longhorns in the mid 60's, and was on the 30 win Texas team that won the national championship team of '63 that beat Navy in the Cotton Bowl, has passed. He was an all SWC defensive end, for those of you who remember the days of the SWC. I grew up on SWC football, listening to every Longhorn game on radio, sponsored by the Humble Oil and Refining Co., with play by play from Kern Tips.....anybody know who Kern Tips was? My dad was a regional salesman for a Houston steel company and we lived in San Antonio. He had season tickets for the Longhorns and took customers to every home game. Us kids got to go to every game and sit in the 50 cent a seat "knothole" section of Memorial stadium. Saw a whole lot of historical games in the end zone seats, and watched Knox play. RIP Knox, and thanks for the memories!
