The Colts a half game better then Dallas at 4-4 are BENCHING # 1 draft pick Anthony Richardson in favor of veteran league traveler Joe Flacco . Colts want to try and salvage the season .

he tapped out because he was tired

he lost the locker room

If you look at his stats in a key division game they may have led to benching just as much . Team at 4-4 benching a first round pick . Dallas will not do the same with a 4th rounder with 8 plus yrs as a blueprint of results .

Heck the safeties can’t even get benched in Dallas .

Honestly. Richardson was not really thought to be ready to start his rookie season and it was STUPID to expect him to go out and play well. It was idiotic and his confidence has to be really shot to pieces right now.
They had Flacco; should have kept playing him and let Richardson learn on the bench.

No question.......never seen that before in 35+ years of following football on all levels and what's even crazier is they say he didn't see anything wrong with it. Never admit something like that as a QB. Fake a minor injury or something but tap out coz you tired? It's going to take a while before his teammates trust him again.

He actually came out of the game because he was tired.

I know that but his stats were abysmal
Absolutely. He was very benchable. I just found it comical as to why he was out of the game. Have you ever heard of a QB say that? I guess when you get a 34M dollar contract before your first snap, it opens up a lot of options.

I like the move for a few reasons:
1) Flacco is the better QB and the whole team knows this so play Joe.
2) AR gets to watch a good veteran QB, and learn his study habits and approach.
3) AR already was inexperienced even on a college level, so I view this as the best way to salvage his career as a Colt.

And yet Dallas doesn’t consider changing … any starters . Colts record 4-4 .

May be funny but it's also true. They're in the mix.
In the mix for what? They won’t win a playoff game, much less, the Super Bowl. Sacrificing the development of your first round pick to put in Flacco to maybe back into the playoffs is a fool’s errand.

IF that is the reason. OR it might be they do not want to destroy his confidence and get him beaten down. HE was playing badly. But then that is on the team for putting a player in who obviously was not ready. THAT was the mistake. This stupidity that a first rd QB has to start right away is just moronic. IF he is not ready do not start him. Just plain dumb.

They can win their division title.
The rookie QB is a bust. Never seen a QB tap out before.
Ever. Flacco put Cleveland in the playoffs last year.
It's not like the Colts are crippled by a $240M QB contract.
Your initial comment was a dig at Flacco.
Not QB development.

Tapping out is inexcusable for a QB.
Just for contrast, Romo tried to stay in the game after breaking his collar bone. Prescott tried to reset his broken ankle on the field.
This kid tapped out because he was tired.

Flacco has played decentball the last 2 years when given a chance.

Hes certainly better than AR right now

HE might already be broken. I guess he would not have lasted anyway but the Team is the one that put him in a situation he clearly should not have been in.

Not sure how it's the team's fault to start him. They didn't know he'd tap out. Maybe they shouldn't have drafted him. That's where their fault lies. Dude has no heart and isn't smart. They'd be wise to cut their losses early.

IF you do not think a player is ready then do not start him. I find the argument that the team is not responsible ridiculous.
