Richie Grant

Ive studied him, watched tape, am close with the UCF program and have spoke to him multiple times.

He’s climbing boards and scouts are talking as high as round 1.

I still see him as a Day 2 tops. Safety needy teams will go after Simmons, Harris, Williams, Maye. Then you have Washington, Moehrig and Grant. One likely slides right to us
If we can get him at 44 it’ll be the steal of the draft. We might have to offer a team above us a 4th to move up in the 2nd for him.

Looks smooth to me, he’s got a sleepy style. IDK yet, the 40 dash and combine practices will be really important for him. He’s either kind of like Dwayne Wade smooth or just slow in general. He played noticeably faster against a rival Florida team....make me think he has it in him if he wants to play. He has instincts and is a playmaker, plus he can catch the ball and goes for turnovers....sometimes because he’s beat. He doesn’t look super fast, but if he runs below 4.5 that would make me think he’s a fit and just bored with the competition at ucf. At 6-0 194.

I don’t know I think woods is just as good, I want a 6-2 215 4.3 FS, but if your thinking 5th round he might be a starter in a few years. I might be way off on the 5th round haven’t studied the DBs much there are some long DBs at the senior bowl and I’ve been focusing on OL, DL, and LBs.

This was my concern when we started winning some games at the end of the year. It wasn’t the 1st round pick as I think we get a top ten talent that fits a need at #10. It was how many draft targets do we just miss out on in rounds 2-4 because they get picked a few spots before us.

It’s Daltons fault, if he stunk more they never would have won those games. Please get rid of the competent backup QBs.

No combine at all this year, only pro days

Question is. Do we finally pull the trigger on a safety? I will never forget the year derwin James was drafted I saw the three stooges fist bumping in the war room and I thought we got him. Little did I know lol

Exactly. I posted something similar in another thread.

I will however say that last year....except for Reggie Robinson....

The actual picks fell into line with what most of us wanted them to do.

So I'm hopeful someone in the building finally points out that we haven't had a decent safety in a long long while.

Dan Quinn. He will win me over on that alone lol

Voch Lombardi loves him and did an All-22 film session on him.

If we could somehow pair this guy with Farley and Diggs the secondary will be a strength by mid-season.

It's not a far fetched scenario, but its too good to be true and probably won't happen.

You are looking for a unicorn my friend.

I would like that pairing and sign a Kazee to play in the nickel. Crazy ball skills at every secondary position.

Well, I think I'm on board the Richie Grant hype train now. The idea of getting Surtain, Grant, and pairing them with Diggs and Wilson is very tempting. We still have probs up front, obviously, but this at least has the potential to turn one area of our defense into a potential strength
