Sorry, I missed this earlier, but Jerry Norton, DB for the Eagles, Cardinals, Cowboys, and Packers, died on Jan 14, 2020, in Dallas. He was 88:

This got me thinking How will the other Jerry be viewed here on this board the day the last name says Jones and not Norton. Me personally Jerry may make me mad but he loves this team his ego and all

The DFW area will shut down for a day to pay respect to Jerry Jones when he passes.

No need to turn this into a Jerry Jones bashing.

Very sad. I used to have his card. Once a Dallas Cowboy, always a Dallas Cowboy. RIP, Mr. Norton. :starspin:

I didn't know Jerry Norton. I wasn't born until 1965, so I can't remember him playing. RIP just the same.

It will? I'll hold a 3 second moment of silence then slam a beer.

If this sounds cold I'll be happy to remind you of the nearly 25 years of garbage Jerry has provided. And lets not forget the slap in the face he gave to the fans when he hired Parcells, not because he wanted to win, but because he wanted to get Jerry world built. Keeping Garrett employed for 10 years was the ultimate middle finger to the fans, though.

You are free to be disrespectful anytime you want to be. What comes around goes around.

Thanks for this OP. ... My pee wee football coach, great guy ... I see he was Pro Bowl 5 times as DB and punter, First Team All-Pro 1960 - finished career after that with the Boys. ... Also kick returner, played some RB also - last of the old "two-way" platoon days. ... Highlight as kid was - if bugged enough he would punt at the end of "practice" - it was a rocket - we would ooh and aah.
