What are your favorite places to eat in and around the Riverwalk?

Clubs?

Other stuff to do that's nearby?

Boudros is the best. Dirty Dick's is fun too.

Man vs. Food had a San Antonio epsiode that had a hamburger joint. I can't remember the name, but if I can pull off a trip to SA I am so going to go try that hot hamburger.

Chuncky's Hamburgers.
The burger is the "Four Horsemen"...be careful, that thing comes with a mix of hot peppers including the Ghost Pepper(Naga Jolokia).
In downtown SA there are tons of options. From Fogo de Chao to Republic of Texas,Dick's is more of a fun drinking joint,Coyote Ugly is expensive as hell,Hard Rock,Pesca,Landrys's,Boudros has some good guacamole(made right in front of you),Ruth Chris',and on Basse and Broadway they have La Posada Del Rey...fajitas like you would not believe.
Some of the best Margaritas are made here too...man,i love this place.

So who all is going to TC the last week of July? I'm thinking about driving over with my sons. Be cool to hookup with some fellow fans somewhere one evening.

If my Mom were not so ill I would have been there. Sadly, she comes first as I am the only one in the family who can afford the care she needs.

Well, I was going to, but my free accommodations aren't panning out like I'd like.

I considered doing the Cali run, but it's kinda late for me to make those kinda plans.

Well i could get some free acomos over there, but i would be expected to spend a ton of time with them, which i dont really want to do. ha. It would just be cool to hang out with some fellow zoners at a sports bar nearby. I've done this on other message boards, not necessarily sports related and its always a complete blast. edit :eek:k keep your dirty thoughts to yourself: as i re-read that.

Lol.. No dirty thoughts even came to mind.

My free accommodations are like family who I actually like being around. Just overall good people. The problem is that the person who would actually enjoy the TC is going to be out of town. And my other option isn't planning to go due to her own obligations. So, oh well.

Boudro's was very good but the whole Riverwalk food scene was too crowded for my taste.

We're definitely hitting up Boudro's again. I'll be there 7/30-8/1.

I looked at their menu online. Dinner is a little pricey, but we might go there for lunch. What did you like there?

I had a Boudro's burger. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich, and my kids shared the green chicken enchiladas.

All of it was really good. We loved the guacamole.

I don't recall exactly what I had, but it was a steak of some sort. I just remember it being very good. The wife really liked the guacamole that they prepare table-side and she had the pork tenderloin.

Also, give the *****ly pear margarita a try.

In addition to the guac, give the salmon bruschetta a try even if you're not fond of salmon. It's the one thing I head down there for.

One interesting place is the BuckHorn one of the oldest Salon around (129 years)

They server lunch and in the evening it is just the saloon part. They have a museum that cost extra it was interesting. Look around when you get their are generally coupons for discount on admission to the Museum section.
