Only counted one game for Brooks. Says two games but average is one game average. Thanks for the breakdown.I'm a database guy as some of you know. Thought I'd work up two reports I can easily run in the future. Here are the rookies.
Bell has been outplaying Clark at LB. That would explain those bullet points. My observations:
- Bell is another huge surprise...and much of his play at LB.
- Surprised Clark played so little in game 2.
Appreciate the feedback. That can logically be calculated two different ways.Only counted one game for Brooks. Says two games but average is one game average. Thanks for the breakdown.
You could be right, which is pretty crazy considering Bell's more limited experience, and the fact that he's playing LB at 205 lbs!Bell has been outplaying Clark at LB. That would explain those bullet points.

The Clark data stuck out. I wonder if it had to do with the difference in personnel between the Giants and the Jets.My observations:
- I never would have imagined Thomas would get this much action. We're loaded at safety! Wonder if he'll get much play when Wilson returns.
- Bell is another huge surprise...and much of his play at LB. Quinn has got his bag of tricks!
- I hadn't noticed Asim played at all, but has some, perhaps due to blow-outs
- Schoon, Leupke and Deuce all saw increased reps in week 2
- Don't think the coaches believe Mazi is quite ready yet.
- Surprised Clark played so little in game 2.
Keep it up!If this kind of thing interests you pls. let me know, or I won't fuss posting.
I agree. That surprised and puzzled me, but Big Dog might have captured the reason: they just want to have Bell in there as his quickness and instincts create problems. The Clark data stuck out. I wonder if it had to do with the difference in personnel between the Giants and the Jets.
When Martin missed snaps in the Jets game, Bass moved to RG and Asim played LG.My observations:

If that was the case wouldn’t the data show an increase in snaps from game 1 to game 2? They’re pretty close. Leads me to believe we were running different sets from 1 game to the next. Might be another interesting data point. The different defensive alignments from game to game and see if there is any correlation between the snap counts.I agree. I thought it was going to be a big season for Clark, and may still be... Ultimately I trust Dan.
Mazi played more snaps than Hankins vs the Jets.My observations:

Quinn said that at some point in college, Bell played at 230 pounds. You could be right, which is pretty crazy considering Bell's more limited experience, and the fact that he's playing LB at 205 lbs!
Yes, I forgot how the Jets and Giants both completely abandoned the run game, so Cowboys have been using their Nascar package a lot.Mazi played more snaps than Hankins vs the Jets.
Mazi played starting in the 1st quarter of the Giants game and consistently rotated into the game.
They're using a 10-man DL rotation. Most teams use an 8-man rotation.
Offenses pass more when they're behind on the scoreboard.
Bell was 6-2 212 at the combine and his pro day. Could have put on some weight since.Quinn said that at some point in college, Bell played at 230 pounds.
The Cowboys roster never has accurate weights.
Will be interesting to follow the numbers as season moves along. If that was the case wouldn’t the data show an increase in snaps from game 1 to game 2? They’re pretty close. Leads me to believe we were running different sets from 1 game to the next.
