I think this is what definetly needs to be fixed in the new CBA. Rookie contracts are out of control you have unproven players coming in and becomg like the highest paid players on their teams. They need to follow the NBA, rookies get low contracts to start and have to show something to get a big contract. The NFL just gives rookies huge contracts with out ever playing a down, and how many rookies actually come in and are ready to produce and dominate???

I have been saying that for a while. Let them earn the big payday first.
Yeah I don't have a problem with that at all. My big problems are in the 1st rd top 10 contracts moreso than the bottom 10 contracts.

It boggles the mind that a guy who hasn't played a down of NFL football, no matter the position, gets 15 - 20 mil guaranteed. And then if he's a bust, it's a major setback to the team taking him.

Ask San fran if they would have liked to have had something like that in place last year with all the money they gave Alex Smith. :lmao2:
