Rookie Performers

All shining as rookies.

Sam Williams is making tackles for losses and puts on speed pash rush. He is is being worked in gradually and I see him as a future dominator.

Brand and Clark look like smart veterens, who can read the opposing QB and make plays on the ball carrrier or the potential receiver.

Even the Wolf Hunter is making plays. His cross the fieldtackle of Taylor saved a 40 yard gain. He showed tremendous closing speed.

I would add Ferguson to that list too. TE can be one of the tougher positions to make the transition from college to NFL, but the guy has shown a lot of promise in limited action. I'm still a little hesitant on Bland, but for a 5th round pick I cant complain too much.

Seems to me that the Cowboys have landed four starting caliber players from this draft, at minimum a depth/rotational guy in Bland, and wild card in Tolbert. Typically if you can find two starters from any draft it's a success.

I would add the following rookies to the list:

Jake Ferguson TE - draft pick
Peyton Hendershot TE - UDFA
Kavonte Turpin KR/PR - UDFA - Even though he played in the USFL he is still considered a rookie for NFL purposes

If you found your replacement for Jourdan Lewis in the 5th round (which I think we have), that’s gold.

I would have wagered money that of all the rookies Tolbert would have been the early contributor. There’s still some time for him to develop. Even if he proves to be a bust, missing out on a 3rd rounder is not the end of the world.
