Round 1 - From these choices

The issue is you have Micah, Tank, Armstrong, Fowler and Williams all trying to get snaps. Don’t forget Golston as a deep rotation guy. Fowler was super productive in limited snaps last season and he’s cheap.

I just don’t see who you cut or how he gets any snaps. It will be Sam Williams all over again. Plus, he will be 24 when the season begins. He’s the same age as Micah minus the two amazing seasons.

This isn’t a complaint. Because in two years you have McDonald and Williams at end and can get rid of Lawrence
No big disagreement here, and to be honest I don't love McDonald as the pick, I just think if you believe and EDGE player is going to become a 10+ sack per year guy you don't miss out on that. Armstrong is in his walk year and I think would be an excellent trade candidate if you have a player like McDonald set to step into his role.

Regardless I think when it comes to edge rushers if you like em take em unless there is a very closely rated player at a higher position of need on the board. This defense really leans on it's ability to attack the passer. Armstrong is set to walk after this season. DLaw becomes a candidate to let go after this season or next. Fowler is great, but it seems pretty clear that he isnt a full time starter. Williams I'm extremely high on, but there is no guarantee he continues to progress as expected. I think the long term outlook for the position gets very murky if Williams doesn't become a full time starter quality player. No issues here in continuing to stockpile good pass rushers.

Parsons, Armstrong, Williams and McDonald would set our pass rush up to be dominant for a long time.

Lawrence turns 31 in a couple days. Smart to draft top end DEs to set up our defensive future.

Not to mention Dorance is not good…his stat total was a mirage of how good he actually was last year.

After we stopped stunting to stop the run he basically disappeared.

I hope that it would be one of Gibbs or McDonald. I could throw Forbes in there too

It's getting good....2 more days. From the following list who would be your pick. Just name...don't want to make this complicated. :)

Mayer TE
Mc Donald DE
Torrance G
Flowers WR
Gibbs RB
Johnson WR. ( I think he falls).
Avila w/ trade down.
Mayer
Gibbs

I want an OL at 26 badly, but it’s very difficult to argue that adding a guy like Gibbs isn’t the best chance we have of winning something over the next few years, provided they add OL soon thereafter.

Off topic, sorry, but does anyone see THAT much of a difference between Gibbs and Robinson? I don’t. What am I missing?

I don't see the big difference in a lot of these RBs. There's no huge gap. I'd rather they get the OL they can get early, the RB later. We're more likely to get the better combo if its OL/RB, not the other way around.

I have Robinson and Gibbs as the clear cut top 2 backs in this draft, and IMO, it isn’t really close. They are head and shoulders better than any of the other backs. I do think some of the other backs are good… just not close to the top 2.

Robinson and Gibbs are different backs but I think their impacts will be close on the two teams that take them. Bijan is a more typical back while Gibbs is so special with his open field running and catching the ball that, if he’s used correctly, he should help his team as much as Robinson will.

That is just my view on them. I think they’re both very good.

In context of your want for OL, Robinson doesnt need line dominance (which he didnt really have at Texas), his ability to read what's in front of him and execute with acute footwork will see him gaining yards (regardless). He'll keep Defenses honest (9ers wouldnt be able to rush four with him on the field)....weakness is he hasnt got HR speed.
Gibbs, better on the edge and slot, has the speed for long gains, the issue would be that we wouldnt have a RB that could run between the tackles which may not compliment Tony. Both Gibbs/Robinson are capable of influencing the secondary as well as the running game.....just depends on how we want to play.

Flowers is the best on that list.
Mayer would be a close second
