Roy Williams Combine/Pro day:

Combine Invite: yes
Height: 6024
Weight: 211
40 Yrd Dash: 4.48
20 Yrd Dash:
10 Yrd Dash: 225 Lb. Bench Reps:
Vertical Jump:
Broad Jump:
20 Yrd Shuttle:
3-Cone Drill:

Draft Scout Snapshot: 03/24/04 - Senior wide receiver ROY WILLIAMS... weighed in at 6024, 211 pounds... ran between 4.38 and 4.44 in the 40... fastest was 4.36, which came on his second attempt... 3.94 short shuttle; 3.78 on one watch... 6.72 in the three cone; 6.68 on one wat

Guys:

All of these times are great considering his size. His short shuttle and three cone indicate great quickness, so why is he now considered slow and not quick? I think his VJ was 39. Physically he appears to be one of the top receivers in NFL history.

Can a guy his age go downhill that quick? I guess when you don't work hard bad things happen. Is it possible for him to return to form?

Thoughts?

I think things came easy at the college level and found out you need to really dedicate yourself at the pro level. I do think he can turn it around.

He found out he could get more thread posts if he sucked.

It's a great question. The guy put up great numbers, like you said. He ran a 10.5 100m in high school.

And now he moves like a glacier out there. It's like he's aged prematurely, or something.

Roy does not look as fast as he is. Same could be said of Vince Young, they have long strides that eat up alot of ground quickly.

Truer words have rarely been spoken here.

The guy has been blessed; he should be ashamed to squander the athletic ability that he has in front of millions of spectators every Sunday.

If he doesn't want it (and I suspect he really doesn't "want it") he should just go away and do something that makes him happy.

I could give him a pass for the first, partial season in Dallas. But this past season was inexcusable. In my opinion, the guy just can't compete. He isn't equipped to compete, mentally.

A real competitor wouldn't have given up his spot on the food chain to an UDFA. And vanished at the majority of critical points in critical games.

paid.

same goes with barber.. hamlin...roy williams(safety)

Roy Williams (safety) just blasted himself out of the league, IMO. Too many violet collisions against too many big people took its toll on him. He just seemed to shrivel up by the end of every year starting in his 3rd season.

Barber was also a case of too many collisions that have taken their toll cumulatively. I also think forcing him into becoming a starter hastened this decline.

Hamlin just wasn't very good and was overpaid because he got some INTs in his first year here.
