Rueing Shawn Andrews

Shawn Andrews started Sunday's win over the Seahawks at left tackle.

With Shaun O'Hara out, the Giants decided to move David Diehl to left guard and Rich Seubert to center. That left former Eagles Pro Bowl guard Andrews with his first start at left tackle ever. The Giants offensive line didn't not allow a sack or get whistled for a false start while the running game racked up 197 yards.

So glad we decided to go with Alex Barron instead. Who needs a 27 year old All Pro talent who can play 4 different positions on the OL.

At the time his back was screwed up same reason Jerry didn't look at Gaither.

Yes...We should have gotten Andrews. We probably would be 7-1 now if we had gotten him.

Yeah, that's what the messageboard talent evaluators told me when they were trying to explain why Alex Barron was a much better option.

Oh, and the Steeler fans would like to thank us for giving them Flozell Adams .. he's been absolutely destroying people on the right side for their running game.

Or maybe we would have been spared the atrocity known as the Alex Barron/Marc Colombo RT tandem and had one less hole to fill in the offseason.

And we would all be complaining about how we should have gotten (insert other OT's name here) instead of Andrews because andrews would probably be sucking here.

Sorry...I just don't go for the if we would have gotten this guy it would have been a magically different season for us.

Are you saying that Alex Barron and Marc Colombo haven't been a problem and that they are just a reflection of "what's going on over here"?

I find that to be pretty laughable. That's some Jerry Jones caliber talent evaluation going on there. Both Colombo and Alex Barron are human punchlines at this point.

No I am saying that if Andrews would have came here he would be just another bum on the Oline that we would all be complaining about and chances are the ones we would have not taken would have been doing better else where ala Flo.

One player on that line is not making a difference right now and it is so screwed up they would not be a magical cure to the season being different.

If Andrews were here he would probably be the human punching bag instead of Barron or Columbo.

You are not going to go into the offseason and get some other teams cast offs and expect a big difference with this O-Line and this coaching staff and team playing the way it is.

It's just a matter of the grass is always greener on the other side but once you get to the other side you realize it is the same shade.

I get so sick of hearing people ruing about this player or that player when this team and coaching staff as a whole suck right now, like that one player would make a lick of difference.

This offensive line needs better talent in more than one spot and we need better coaches to get this talent to play.

Hey we got Andrews instead of Barron or Columbo is not going to magically make Bigg play better, not going to magically make the FB, TE or RBs block better.

We need more than one player to change on the O-Line and we need better coaching on it as well.
