Rumors surface of another L.A. stadium project

Though we've been spending more time than usual pretending to be real journalists lately, we're still not above passing along an unsubstantiated rumor or two.

And this one actually isn't completely unsubstantiated.

We're hearing that Tim Leiweke and Anschutz Entertainment Group have been working on a possible downtown Los Angeles football stadium.

Though it's way too early to know whether the venue would have any viability, it likely would provide a preferred alternative to Ed Roski's proposed stadium in Industry, California.

Then there's the relatively minor issue of, you know, having a team to play there. Possible candidates include the Jaguars, Chargers, Rams, Raiders, 49ers, and Vikings.

Living in SD, I can easilly see the Chargers moving. No way the 49ers go.

No way Vikes actually move either.

Jacksonville is by far the most likely.

A downtown site for a new stadium? I don't see that as very likely. There was a group who was looking at a site in Carson and that one seemed like a much more viable location.

Downtown where??? Are they gonna raze the garment district?? Have they again redefined downtown to place it next to the Target Center??

I agree that Jacksonville makes the most sense. Attendance is not good for the Jags
