Rush Def misconception

Yes Dallas has had some struggles at times. Dallas is 19th on total rushing yards allowed, middle of the pack. They are 16th yards per carry middle of the pack. And they have allowed 2 rushing tds which is tied for 2nd.

So let's not act like this team is horrible against the run.

What makes it look like the run Def is worse than it is. The screen, and why does the screen work more often than not because the team is a great pass rushing defense. What do teams call these yards Dallas is giving up? Empty yards because they aren't turning into tds but fgs or no pts.

If Rush and the offense could've scored pts the rush Def wouldn't be a topic. I really don't think people realize how good this defense is. Qbs are literally running for their life on almost every play. Dallas lost the game vs Philly for one reason, penalties. The previous 3 games Dallas played smart and those games even with the offense unable to score those teams never came close to showing anything that said they could win the game over the Cowboys. That's how dominant this defense is. Eagles are a good team but still needed something late to beat a team with a qb who doesn't have the talent. The defense was still that dominant that it took the eagles to wait until they wrote down late because of no offense.

Put some respect on this defense because the defense is the reason the Cowboys have 4 wins. Not because of a backup qb

This team is built to play D with a lead. When you have a lead, the run game is a non factor. I don't think we would hold up well against a bunch of teams that run the ball effectively, without our O showing up and taking their run game away. The Titans will be a team we will struggle with if the O doesn't show up quick and in a hurry that game. This D reminds me of the Colts D back in the day. Get a lead and destroy the QB.

I only care about points the defense is allowed 20 or less and the offense needs the score over 20 they do that I'm a happy guy.

Somebody had to get the wins because the starting QB wasn't doing it. This high octane offense managed 3 freaking points against the BUCS. And as we have seen lately the BUCS are nothing special.

It is a misconception, but more importantly rushing defense correlates poorly with winning NFL football games in 2022. Our passing defense is excellent and that matters far more, statistically speaking.

So even if it were true you shouldn’t lose much sleep over it.

Remember Dallas had a ol with a new leftvside and new rt. Starting lg gets hurt on the first drive. First game with brown and Houston who isn't on the team anymore at wr.

And with Moores playcalling.

Where do you get high octane offense? This is a team who's had to find out what they had on offense.

From week 1 they have found a good young ol, a nice set of young wrs and tes. And a running game that can carry the offense of the oc would give it a chance. And now they have their leader back

I thought the 3 turnovers did them in vs. Philly.

Andy Dalton was sure generous to the Cardinals last night . When you think the Cowboys went 4-1 under the back up QB and really if the defense gets off the field in Philly gives the offense the ball back 20-17 instead of the Eagles running the ball down the defense play after play going up 26-17 you could be looking at 5-0.

Now look around the league , the Saints . Once Payton got a taste of Jameus Winston flinging around interceptions he bailed on New Orleans . That team is a mess at QB.

We didn't stop the run when we knew it was coming and we needed a stop to give us a chance. The run D isn't good. Otherwise I agree with everything you said.

All this crap sounds good until you reach the postseason and go up against the better teams in the NFL. Then you are one and done. So that's the measuring stick i have for this team and this defense. Let's see how they hold up against those teams.

I bet you weren't thinking that Week 1 when the Bucs Defense was fully healthy and playing lights out, were you H.E.??? Of course not, since it would go against your agenda.

Our rush defense will be tested vs. Detroit come Sunday. They've improved their RB production by a large margin in recent weeks. With a full contingent of DTs on our inside d-line now, there's good hope for containing them.

This team is not good against the run when it matters. How have we done in the playoffs? How did we do last week at the point of the game when It mattered most in a game for the division lead? The Bucs don’t even attempt to run much at times this year and ran all over us

I do not understand how someone could watch our defense get man handled on the Eagles final scoring drive and then come away with this take. The run D was suspect before the game last Sunday, and our suspicions turned out to be correct against the Eagles. Their run offense punched the run D in the mouth on their final scoring drive and there was nothing our defenders could do about it. It was bad.

Talk about the turnovers all you want to deflect - simple fact is, it was 17-20 in the 4th and our defense flopped.

Part of that defensive problem was the offense doing nothing early. Kind of like going for a 3 mile run before running a 10 mile race and your fighting so hard mid point to play catch-up that by the time you do catch-up you have nothing left. This is why I complain so much when Dak goes cold for 3 quarters of a game.
