Aldon Smith - DL - Player The National Football Post reports the Cowboys will give consideration to Missouri DE Aldon Smith at No. 9.
They would reportedly "love" to pair Smith with DeMarcus Ware "off the edge." NFL Network's Warren Sapp recently compared Smith to Ware, and Dallas must see whatever he's seeing. The Cowboys still seem most likely to draft an offensive lineman or cornerback at No. 9, but Smith must now at least be considered a possibility.

Southern Cal OT Tyron Smith is getting a lot of interest from the Cowboys at nine, but I am also hearing they like Missouri DE Aldon Smith a lot and would love to pair him opposite DeMarcus Ware off the edge.

Uh, flush this one. They are higher on Cameron Jordan than they are Aldon Smith and I don't think they'll take Jordan at #9. Maybe in a trade down.

I dont think it is likely, or that they would try and get this cute. But imagine if they could trade with the Lions(Lions get Prince) and still get Tyron and pick up a 3rd

I watch a lot of Big 12 and I am firmly against him at the number nine over all pick. He is a one trick pony as far as pass rush. He also did not face great talent. Despite a down year in the Big 12, his play declined. He may be a good player for someone in a couple of years but not now at number nine.

Dalllas seems interested in many players and if they have genuine interest in this many players it tells me that they are looking to trade down and do not want the 9 pick. says they are doing there homework depending on how far they drop.

Wait and see if San Francisco brings in Aldon Smith for a work out. They had a bunch of people, including the head coach, at Robert Quinn's pro day. They talked to Quinn before the pro day started and showed a whole lot of interest. They need an edge rusher, and if Quinn is gone, they may like Aldon Smith. It's possible that they could trade down to get him. Although, they could be forced to just take him at 7.

Of all the teams from 7-10, I think S.F. could be in the position first to trade down. They could trade down and take Aldon Smith or Prince Amukamara. S.F. saw A. Smith's great work out at his pro day and had a ton of people there.

Smith young player at 20 years of age...but horrible fit in 3-4 and he cant bend properly in coverage as OLB. He is ideal as DE in 4-3 and wouldnt suprise me if he battles Quinn as top sack guy next year for rookies.
