Apparently starting linebacker Austin Box was rushed to the hospital this morning due to a oxycodone overdose and has since passed away. T&P for his family.

He's had some minor legal issues with alcohol and disorderly conduct in the past, but this is still surprising. Very sad to see a young life thrown away due something so easily preventable.

How much did he take?

As if it matters?? What if I told you he took 5lbs?

What does that fact do to the fact that he's dead?

BTW: He took 5lbs of oxycodone.

That's a shame. You hate to see anybody meet a fate, such as this one, at such a young age. I am very sorry for his family, friends and for the entire University of Oklahoma family.

Would have been much better to see this young man live life, play football and eventually grow up to have a happy and healthy life after football.

Thats a shame. Unfortunately I knew when my buddy told me about it that it would be drug related. Very sad to see a young persons life end like that.

I think it's a question people ask to "politely" inquire whether it was intentional overdose or not.
