Safety is the more important position in Quinn's scheme

With so much talk about which flavor of ice cream we like at the corner position in the draft, very little discussion about the safeties. I have heard this numerous times and most recently by Bucky Brooks, in Quinn's scheme the Safety position is far more important than the outside corners:

-It is expected that the defense is going to run a lot of cover 3 and cover 1. They need a rangy, single high safety to effectively play these coverages. Many believe Wilson, just doesn't have the range to effectively play this position and is better suited inside the box. Nobody is talking about Moehrig in rd 1, but we should. Several draft sites have him as a top 20 prospect.

-Quinn uses his strong safety exclusively inside the box as an extra defender. We remember Kam with the Legion of Boom, but most recently Neal played that role and is a former 1st rd pick by Quinn and the Falcons. Many believe this is the better fit for Wilson, but we shouldn't rule out Neal reuniting with his former HC.

Moehrig is likely a mid to late 1st round talent that Dallas might consider if they trade down to a later pick than 10th in round one. Sitting pretty like they are at #10, several options should be open to them. Much depends upon how the team sets up it's preferences.

Quinn drafted neal at 17. He might as well ask for jok at 10. Hes a wayyyyy better athlete than Neal could dream of

Just sign John Johnson or Henry and call it a day. Moehrig is a crap shoot if we can get him, and how long to adapt.
