I don’t won’t to hear any excuses from Jones when they have to pay Pollard. They signed zero FA that have big cap hit, they got more than half of the roster on rookie salary, and they got rid of big contracts in Amari & Collins. It will be Football malpractice if they don’t sign Pollard to a deal.

The Cowboys have restructure built into their contracts to create cap space. I think this is Tyron Smiths last year with the Cowboys. Injuries have taken a toll on his body. Schultz will probably test the waters in free agency. I don’t know how much money we would save cutting Zeke! Cap guys can figure that out. I’m not worried.

So you want to pay pollard and already paying Zeke 16M. Do we need to put that much into RB position?

If we pay pollard then we cut Zeke.

No more than a 4 year deal that we could get out of in 2 years

Pollard and several other guys are WHY we didn't spend big in free agency, yet.

Well if salaries. Automatically go up, a high salary cap won’t matter.

Everyone knows the cap is going up next year. Problem is even with the increase the Cowboys are only projected to have about $3MM of available space going into the offseason. The Cowboys need to move some money around before they can do anything. They have a lot of flexibility to do so, but everything comes at a cost so how much do they want to lose? Plus the cap going up just means free agents get more expensive. Players negotiate based on a percentage of cap more often than not.

Maybe they can finally afford Star Lotulelei...

They need to save up to pay Isaac Alarcón after he becomes the 1st player to make All Pro from the practice squad and without ever playing a snap...

No matter what Zeke needs to be cut. 2023 is the first year this could be done from a cap standpoint. Zeke takes up way too much cap space for what he provides. RB's fade quickly. I've noticed at the beginning of the last few season and yesterday after 3 weeks off, Zeke looks like a much better player than in other games. I think after the pounding his body has taken he just gets wore down after a few games.

I'd draft similar size back and try to see if Pollard can be resigned for a something less than top 5 RB dollars.

I disagree Zeke & Pollard are the foundation of this offense for few years. The combo with a good OL is what drives this team including making the defense better than what it is.

Restructure Zeke and sign pollard to a three year deal with a option.

Lotulelei would be a nice addition for the DL. BTW I did say that Pollard was the best weapon on this team 2 years ago and should be used as a slot receiver.

Half the Cowboys fan base wanted him to play as a slot WR..

It wasn’t even 10% only I said he was the best offensive weapon 2 years ago.
Wrong!

I said he was the most dynamic offenaive player on the roster.

I posted about wanting to draft Pollard before the Cowboys drafted him. I said he was the best I had seen at catching short passes and then transitioning to run without losing any time in the process.

I reviewed all games from his final college season. I advocated for drafting him in the 3rd.

I read that they’re probably moving on from JLewis. Saves about 5 million if they cut him before or after June 1

Zeke may be the foundation of Krispy Kreme. His drive killing 3 yards and a cloud of dust runs aren't doing anything for the Cowboys.

They need to cut bait with him as soon as possible.

He got two TDs and was getting 4 yards per carry. The combo is key to a playoff run.
