Much of the discussion focused on Tim Tebow, the 25th pick who will wear No. 15 despite holding up a jersey showing No. 10 at his introductory press conference.
Lost in the shuffle was the fact that Rams quarterback Sam Bradford has changed from No. 14 in college to No. 8 at the NFL level. The reason, per USA Today, comes from Bradford's desire to honor another former Oklahoma quarterback, who later transferred to UCLA. Troy Aikman, who became a Hall of Famer with the Cowboys, also wore No. 8.
Meanwhile, Steve Young finds the development to be an ironic juxtaposition of eventualities, and he's tempted to be chagrined by the laissez faire process of numerical selection.
