If Darnold was so good to beat out Lance, why didn't SF value him enough to keep him.I thought Trance was a young Phenomenon with potential.

Are you serious? If Darnold was so good to beat out Lance, why didn't SF value him enough to keep him.
Well, at least you thought I may not have been serious. Are you serious?
Darnold has an opportunity to start in Minnesota and is making twice as much as he made in SF.
Had nothing to do with what SF wanted.
Just by showing up.So how did Darnold beat out Lance for the back up role in SF?
Came down to money and cap hit for SF.So how did Darnold beat out Lance for the back up role in SF?
Not at all.Came down to money and cap hit for SF.
In spite of what others say.
It was the potential of paying the 5th year option this year. So they got what they could to avoid doing that.Darnold made more than Trance last year.

Darnold has sucked so far his time in the NFL. IMO though. So they spent $4.5M on Darnold last year to save
$5M this year on Trance.
That is pretty much a wash. Darnold was a legit back up QB who could play if Purdy was hurt.
Trance is still a project.
It had nothing to do with the Niners saving money. Darnold is a better QB.Darnold has sucked so far his time in the NFL. IMO though.
Yes Lance is a project at this point.
But I am looking forward to PS games then go from there.
I still would like to see them draft another QB though.
I can't remember anytime anyone making Trance look like a starting QB.I'll never forget the time we made the Jet's Sam Darnold look like he was the best QB in the game
