Of course I could be wrong, but I think Williams is going to be very good for Dallas. As a rookie, I mean. I think he’s going to provide good pressure on the QB, which is what you want from a situational pass rusher. I don’t see him as a starting WDE yet but his pass rush should be everything it is advertised to be.

Good to see that Sam is learning what not to do, as well as what to do under pressure-packed situations. It's all part of the needed maturation process. Eventually, he'll get to be a starter, if and when the time comes for him to assume that role. I believe he'll likely be a Godsend for the Cowboys for many years to come. He seems blessed with the physicality and also the mentality to be extremely successful. He's a lot like Parsons in some ways.

Sam's not a finished product. He has a frame that needs more weight to be an every-down player in the NFL.
I still LOVE this draft pick. JMO but the Cowboys stole him.
Williams has of the field concerns that scared teams away in the pre-draft process. Cowboys “thoroughly investigated” allegations against Sam before drafting him. But the Jerry haters won't give him credit for this draftee either.

Didn't the Cowboys "thoroughly investigate" Kelvin Joseph? How about Greg Hardy? Or Randy Gregory?
I'm not a Jerry hater (whatever that means), but why would anyone give Jerry credit for him now? He hasn't even played yet. And we don't know if he has TRULY put his past behind him.
Players always say that, yet there's a long line of players who say they've put their pasts behind them who actually don't.
The proof is in the test of time.

The key is stopping the run. If we can force teams into situations where they have to pass this defense can cut loose.

This guy will be just as, if not more, productive than the supremely overrated Randy Gregory, who was a speed bump in the run game and a disappearing act in big games.
I hope you're right. If he can be close to what Gregory could have been, I'll be satisfied.

Tye Cowboys definitely zoned in and targeted him long before draft day. They really didn’t disguise it. Makes me wonder how he fell to us. Other teams obviously liked other players better who were drafted before him.

Did we get really lucky, or did we take him earlier than other teams would have taken him. These questions should be answered pretty soon.

As far as Sam Williams is concerned, he's a signed member of the Cowboys now. Whether or not he's able to avoid the slings and arrows of his over and done misconducts of the past remains to be seen. Like most rookies, he has work to do to get fully integrated into the Cowboys defense as need be. He'll be given the opportunity to do so. I believe the vast majority of us feel that he has a good chance to succeed. He's a Dallas Cowboy now and in the foreseeable future. As fans, he deserves all the support that we can afford him. We all know that he has the talent needed to succeed.

Hopefully, he'll prove that he can be trusted to conduct himself as he should. It's too early to tell much just yet. Like most new rookies, he'll undergo the training that he'll need to develop properly. That includes both the technical aspects of DE play and the necessary strength and conditioning to be at his best to succeed as a defensive end. All systems are at go for Sam Williams in the here and now. Let's just hope and trust that he'll make the most of his opportunities to prove himself. The rest is strictly up to him. Let's wish him great success and trust him to earn it.

He would have been a 1st round pick if not for the sexual assualt charge that was later dropped.

He and Dan Quinn were instant BFFs in the pre and post draft videos of them together.

I'm certain Micah Parsons will keep him focused.

Players already look up to Parsons in that way that Ravens players idolized Ray Lewis...and Parsons didn't have to kill anybody...
