Sam Williams contract details

I understand. Here’s where I disagree: Cheap isn’t often good.

For years the Cowboys have “settled” for players because they are cheap more than they are talented.
Williams is very talented. He’s made some questionable decisions over the years and had some off field problems (if I remember correctly?). He’s worth a cellar dweller contract just on talent alone. Maybe the new DC can get something outta him this year?

Just the facts. I wish him well and hope he can help the team.
Now, that's more like it -- it's normally preferable to allow good feelings to come to the surface, rather than the bad stuff. Hate fosters resentment, whereas partiality provides encouragement. That makes teams better. Positive encouragement from fans is communicable to players. Sam needs it badly.

I have given up any hope of Williams developing. He is a vet minimum type of warm body who is on the roster to keep us from playing Liufau playing rush 'backer.

This is literally the definition of running it back on a historically bad defense.

I don't care too much one way or the other about this contract.

But if the idea is to change the culture of the defense, then this is really stupid.
I'll take a flyer on him for that price. But if he can't "assimilate" this coming year then get him up on outta there. Last call for him.

There are some here who wanna DX Liufau too. I want to see what these guys look like in a new scheme with better coaching. If they can't be "reprogrammed" in 26' then give 'em the boot.
