Needless to say, I'm very apprehensive of anyone doing this adaptation real justice, but everyone will find out next March. THE greatest graphic novel of all-time is coming to the big screen:

I intentionally linked to the official website instead of directly to the teaser because I think that the front webpage pays great homage to the book and is too cool. :)

Not gonna lie, I don't know jack about that graphic novel, but that movie looks pretty badass.

!!

Nice, I had no idea they were making a movie of this. I love this novel. Rorshach was a great character.

Can't wait, I'm a huge Watchmen fan. I heard Moore doesn't like the idea of Snyder directing it though...But Moore hates everything :D

The first I've seen of that top 100 list. Pretty good round-up. But I think at least one John Irving book deserves to be on there.

John Irving is great, but I think this list is Graphic Novels.
I read Garp really young and that book just knocked me over. I read Cider House rules and really enjoyed it, but I guess Garp being my first, nothing else has touched it for me.

You're right. Here's the complete 100 list from '05:

Watchmen is a great read, regardless of how it's characterized. A story is a story, is a story... and it was entertaining.

I have to chuckle at a bit of irony in that list. Anthony Burgess did not like A Clockwork Orange, and was somewhat dismayed at it's popularity over much of his more 'serious' work. I loved it as well as his other works, but he sure didn't.

I'm glad to see To Kill A Mockingbird on the list. What a book and the movie does it great justice. It certainly belongs there.

Thanks for the list.

seems like Sin city meets super heros to me

Have you read the graphic novel it's based on? Probably the greatest GN of all time. You really should pick it up and read it if you get a chance.

Zach Snyder (300) is directing, but they are not greenscreening it.

no sir I have not, I'll look into it though. Enough of your hollywood jargon whats green screening? is that what you did with TDK?

I loved how 300 was done :)

No, 300, SIN CITY, and this upcoming THE SPIRIT are greenscreened -- which means the actors perform in front of green screens and everything else is CGI.

TDK was done with very, VERY little CGI. Nolan doesn't believe in it and will only use it if he absolutely has to.

*SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER*

I wonder how they're going to handle the ending and Ozymandias's master plan. I understood his plan and liked it, but I hated how he executed it. That giant monster? That was REALLY LAME.

Other than that, amazing novel. And are they going to include the Tales of the Black Freighter in the movie?

Good question. I hope so. Integrating a comic book within a comic book was pure genius. It would really add to the movie, but I only question whether the plot will become too bloated and fail for that reason.

I think it's all fiction. Hence Lolita, 1984, etc.

Garp was great, but I think Owen Meany was his best.
