Cowboys OC Brian Schottenheimer when asked about some of their offensive game plan that didn’t get used in Sunday night’s 40-0 win: “We were wise about what we wanted to use and what we showed and didn’t show with some of our personnel packages and things like that. The cool thing is you practiced those for, in this case, two weeks. Those carry over nicely into things that fit based on what the Jets do. I think that’s definitely a benefit, but we want to be multiple. … We’ll slide over the ones that fit this week. The ones that don’t, we’ll put them on hold for another week to where they do fit.”

Nice to know he pulled out the ol Scott Linehan plays caked in old coffee at the bottom of the offensive playbook drawer. Had me worried these were our actual “plays” for a bit.

The Cowboys clearly were tinkering around with some stuff to set up other stuff for later in the season with all the myriad of looks and personnel groups they ran. That part actually WAS genius and I applaud it.
