Starting with the obvious: The Cowboys are clearly the better team. But the playoffs are all about proving it. Cowboys just need to play at a high level in all phases and this should be a win. Whether it’s by 1 point or 40, just win!

Here‘s an overview of the packers:
GENERAL INFO:
  • The packers are 9-8 in their first season without Aaron Rodgers. They started 3-5, then went 6-3 to end the season.
  • HC Matt LaFluer is in his 5th season as packers head coach. He’s from the Mike Shanahan coaching tree and is considered one of the bright offensive minds in the league.
  • The pack avg 22.5 points per game and avg giving up 20.6 ppg
STRENGTHS
  • Pack are 12th in total offense in 2023- avg 360 ypg. The offense has been very effective the last half of the season after a slow start.
  • They are 14th in total passing, avg 248 ypg.
  • They are 15th in total rushing, avg 112 ypg.
  • QB Jordan Love has been very good in his first year as a starter. He has thrown for 4,159 yds, 32 TDs and only 11 INTs. He is very athletic and can run well, scoring 4 TDs on the ground.
  • The packer running game is led by veteran Aaron Jones who missed several games due to injury. He still avg nearly 5 yds per rush. Jones has rushed for 3 straight 100 yd games since returning from injury. They also use AJ Dillion a lot as well who is currently limited in practice due to injury.
  • The WR group is very young led by Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs. They both have 8 TDs receiving and have gotten better as the season progressed.
  • Defense isn’t great but they only give up about 21 ppg.
WEAKNESSES:
  • Defensively, they are ranked 17th, giving up 335 ypg.
  • They have been vulnerable against the run, giving up 128 ypg. This game will be a good opportunity for our run game to get going.
  • They don’t generate a lot of TOs on defense. As a team they only have 7 INTs (Cowboys DeRon Bland has 9!)
  • QB Jordan Love can be streaky. He can start very hot or very cold.
  • This packer team is the youngest team in the playoffs in the last 49 years. The lack of playoff experience can hurt them.
KEYS TO BEAT THEM
  • Stop their running game early. Aaron Jones has had 3 straight 100 yard games. If they can run the ball, they will protect their D which isn’t that great. Force them to be one dimensional which will play into our Ds strengths.
  • We need to score first and keep the pressure on them. Most of their players haven’t been in the playoffs and the pressure of playing from behind will work to our advantage.
  • The Cowboys are 10-0 this year when scoring first; 2-5 when the other team scores first. That says a lot.
  • We need to be efficient offensively. TDs obviously more than FGs.
The Cowboys can start a great playoff run Sunday. Time to prove they are for real! Go Cowboys!

Even though we are the better team. I will still be a bit nervous, which I have not been nervous about any game this season.

But yet I have some confidence we can win this game.
Understandable Jazz. The playoffs are where we will ultimately be judged. The packers have been very hot the last half of the season. If we can just do what we do well - especially defensively, we will win by double digits.

I think it is normal to be a bit apprehensive. I know I am. But I am assured that if coaching has them prepared we will win comfortably.
Just stop the run.

I just want a nice, clean game overall. Keep the penalties down, run the ball well and don't get gashed up the middle defensively by their rush attack. A simply good game on offense along with even a decent day defensively and we get the win.

I know it's cliche, however, I think the Packers are just happy to be there. For what was supposed to be a down / rebuild year their season has been a pretty big success.

I don't think their level of motivation will be anywhere near what the Cowboys is, and that matters a TON in the playoffs IMHO.

This is why it’s very important for the Cowboys to assert their will and their superiority early. If the Cowboys can get the lead and keep it from being a back and forth game, it could be decided by halftime.

Most young teams in the playoffs don’t have the resiliency to take early punches and then counterpunch. Which is why I hope the Cowboys come out with an early barrage of superiority to make the packers think they can’t win.

1. Dallas must be able to run against a light box. It’s that simple. GB has a few talented guys up front who can create pressure if Dallas is throwing in 2nd/3rd and longs all game with no threat of the run. And obviously the passing game suffers if 7-8 defenders are able to drop into coverage.

2. Keep Aaron Jones’s total yardage under 100.

If their defense is that sketchy...

We should go out and try and get a 21 point lead asap. I know I know...its not that easy in the NFL...let alone the NFL Playoffs. But we need to just attack the weak spot in their defense...get 2 touchdown lead and make them pass the ball on us.

I hate playing teams with running QBs.

Win the toss, take the ball, score a TD and don't look back.

Thanks for sharing .

As usual, I'm very confident while we are at home,.. we play to a different, better, higher, faster, more
aggressive mode , on both sides of the ball.

Flat and simple, let Packers prove they can beat us hands down..let Jordan Love and Aaron Jones prove they
can beat us

. .Do not beat ourselves.!!

Killer, careless turnovers and penalties.. (both sides of the ball) .. do not give them the game.
Winning, championship caliber teams do not do that.

Good assessment of the Packers. I worry about Aaron Jones going off on us. He is similar in style to James Cook up in Buffalo, with a bit more power. We all know what Cook did to us.

I have not watched the Packers much this season but they have won 7 of their last 10 games beating Detroit in Detroit and KC at home in the run. In that Detroit game Goff fumbled 3 times. In the KC game, Mahomes had a QB rating of 79.

The Chiefs showed they can plays a stinker every now and then so I am not sure what to make of it.

Overall, The Packers played 5 playoff teams and went 3-2 against them. Their roster is littered with middle of the Pack teams other than those 5 playoff teams. The Bucs beat them pretty good in Green Bay. Mayfield threw for 381 yards.

The Packers are a tough team to figure out, but they are in the playoffs so they must be taken seriously.

I think we are the superior team and will win this home game.
However, one concern is our Edge players glory seeking (as well as our depth on the IDL and LBs)
Set the Edge, stop the run, contain Love, THEN rush the passer.
We lack discipline at times on the Edge, despite the amazing talent we have there, and that could hurt us here if we give up chunks in the running game or allow Love to scramble.
Still, I think we win this game.

Thank goodness this isn’t in KC or GB! I prefer our dome when we’re playing even though I love outdoor football in the elements!

Dallas is better at pretty much every position on the field. I like them to win this game.

I think the Cowboys win by a TD and will not be shocked if it turns into a bit of a shootout.

That being said, the playoffs are nerve wrecking to watch regardless of the opponent. Every single one does at least a few things well and can beat you.
