OK, so I was totally an apple guy. I got a new screaming macbook pro. I love the thing. But the battery quit charging and they want to charge me 755 buckaroos for a new logic board, which is Apple's fancy term for a mother board.

This is ridiculous.

And I know I can buy a pc...and I was going to come out of Apple today with a new desktop, iphone and ipad2. But the technical department irked me and so I'm now at the point where I'm thru with apple and want to know if I still get an Ipad is it still compatible if I'm running apple software on it.

Basically, tell me why I should get something different than Apple.

Disclosure. I'm sold On OS X, so that's not up for debate. But with the software now able to run on PCs...tell me, please why I should buy a PC...and which ones I should look at.

My wife and I want a large screen desktop without a tower; preferably a HD screen.

I want a ipad or something similar and a smartphone..

Oh, and a laptop that can run mac software...I know there are a lot of techies on here and I want the smartphone and i like the apps and stuff, but all I'm familiar with is Apple and the service is terrible and the price for a stinking motherboard is outrageous....

HELP!

btw; if you try to install OSX on a non-Apple PC, I believe they will sue you and take your birthday away. If they really get pissed, you could possibly end up in a concentration camp to boot. Jobs doesn't like customers that don't conform to what he dictates.

I would never buy Apple's computer products. As you state, they're way overpriced and I personally dislike the OS. For their other products, however, Apple is the best in the business.

The iPad's biggest selling point is its bang for the buck. Essentially the tablet market is becoming an iPad market -- no other real competitors have surfaced yet. Also, the iPhone is priced about the same as similar smart phone. I would wait until the iPhone 5 comes out however.

Google hackintosh and go from there.

You can build one yourself if you want to.

I installed snow leopard on a netbook a while ago. Pretty painless.

Yeah. Send please. I bought a lonovo all on one and it's touch screen rocks. So does windows 7. Additionally, I regret to say the 750 I spent on my MacBook pro will be the last I spend on any apple product.

I'm so confused.

An iPad will work fine in a PC environment, all you need is iTunes... if that's the question.

If you want an all-in-one, your PC options will be limited. You might try the HP TouchSmart, which has the advantage of having a touch screen. Or perhaps the Dell Inspiron One.

As far as Hackintoshing, it's an option but like all hacks, you're only going to want to do it if you have the patience to handle something going wrong.

If you are going away from Apple computers, just buy a PC and run Windows 7. It's a good OS, no need to waste all this time trying to get OSX on a PC.
