This weeks offensive prospect is official visitor Cam Jurgens of Nebraska

Why should we consider this player

Transformed himself from the #7 TE recruit in the 2018 class to Nebraska starting C in 2019, 2020, and 2021.

Still an ascending player with NFL muscle and a few pounds to add….which is the only knock on his game I can see. Not sure you’re going to want to leave him 1 on 1 to anchor vs a 320+ DT. But from the tape I’ve watched I don’t see him getting pushed back regularly at all

What he brings to the table now is elite athletic ability with + blocking at the 2nd level. Really makes a difference in the running game getting to LB’s.

Jason Kelce comp is lofty…but not sure how far off.

I have no problem taking him in the 2nd.

He is the 2nd round version of Linderbaum.

Lightweight but uber quick.

Probably a day 1 starter in some schemes.

I haven’t seen him in the 2nd round who has him there?

Anyone know where Dane has him?

He was impressive at the combine. He showed he is athletic, powerfully built and has a lot of energy. I don't know that I would pick him in the 2nd though.

We already have a center from Nebraska on this team. I hope he can take over the starting position this year.

They are both white and play the same position. They are both males and United States citizens.

Excellent football analysis. Not sure if you should be a NFL Scout or Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at a Fortune 500 company.

My biggest issue with Biaz is his lack of strength, lack of anchor, now we want to draft another Center who needs to get stronger? I rather play Zion or Green at the position and draft a power guard next to them

Broaddus talking about him on one of the draft shows wasn't impressed FWIW.

You might need to be hired as coach then…Thats just not the system we run. McCarthy and Philbin are primarily zone running scheme.

And if you want to see Zeke fail further get o-linemen that aren’t good at getting to the 2nd level.

When your QB has consistent pressure in his face, no QB would be successful. I fully understand you need more athletic players running a zbs, but they have to be able to hold up against those huge DT's in the passing game.

The wide variety of opinion on this guy is interesting. Some sites have him as day 3 guy, at best, while Brugler has in the middle of the 2nd.

As far as Farniok, he reminds me of one of those guys that fans get all excited about because he looks good in the preseason and in a little mop-up duty and they get all perplexed why he isn't starting. In reality, he is ok depth, he played four positions in college, but he isn't really a guy you want starting 17 game for you.

2nd round and #49 overall prospect. “round 2 version of Linderbaum” is a direct quote from Brugler.
That's funny because I wasn't quoting Brugler. It's just the thought that came to me when describing Jurgens.

NFL.com had him at 44 in a mock last week.

Farniok only played one game at C in college
Farniok's college game footage compares favorably with Cole Strange.
- Most of the draft media have Strange as a 3rd round prospect.

On the downside, Cole Strange got absolutely destroyed by Travis Jones at the Senior Bowl 1-on-1 drills.
- Then again, most players not named Zion also got destroyed by Jones in those drills...

Farniok played 23 snaps in real games and looked OK.

The fact that Farniok as a 7th round pick was active for the majority of games is an accomplishment.
- NFL teams normally prefer experienced players as game day backups.

It's a combination of man and zone with much more inside zone than outside (zone stretch) plays.

I would be more comfortable with a smallish OC if I knew they were going to find a big powerful LG.
