Septoplasty/Turbinate reduction? Anyone had one?

This is pretty much the worst I've ever felt in my entire life, and I've been in Motorcycle accidents, other surgeries, and all kinds of broken bones.

Had surgery to fix my Deviated septum and reduce my humidifiers.

The nasal pressure is killing me, my eyes feel like they are going to burst, the splints in my nose keep me from breathing out of it. My nose leaks (blood and snot). I'm following all the doctors advice on how to treat it, salt water, saline, etc. I'm on some strong meds but it's not really helping. It's not so much the pain but just an all around horrible feeling.

Trying to sleep these last 2 days has been a nightmare. I can only breathe out of my mouth and it dries the back of my throat out so bad that I literally wake up every 5-10 minutes to drink water due to pain. My lips are getting chapped. Combination of horrible sinus pressure, lack of sleep, and the drugs have just made me feel more awful than I thought possible.

Anyone ever been through this? Any tips tricks or idea of what to expect the following few weeks?

I get the splints removed tomorrow.. I can only imagine it hurts like hell.

I had the surgery but didn't have trouble anything like that. The worst I had was a dry throat and a lot of bruising.

Hope you have a quick recovery.

Splints were removed today. Man that hurt. Like ripping fresh scabs off.

Pressure is a little better today, It'll just take time.
Thanks for the well wishes.

My borother-in-law had this done and the first thing he told me was not to get it done even if the doctor recommends it. He said it was the worst pain he has ever gone through. Hope you feel better.
