FRISCO, Texas — The time is nearing for the return of Tyron Smith, and it appears he might be back on the field for the Dallas Cowboys sooner than many anticipated. When the eight-time Pro Bowler went down in practice ahead of the 2022 season with a major leg/knee injury, the team was adamant his season wasn't over and that he'd be back in uniform for a potential playoff run.

This shocks me. Even though they’ve said end of the season he’d be back all along. Just sounded like an injury that would end someone’s year.

The Oline is fine if McGovern can stay healthy.

Remember Tyron came back for the playoffs last year from the ankle injury and played awful. He needs some games under his belt beforehand.

Rehab doesn't get you in game shape, especially someone his size. Add probably 2 or 3 weeks after he's cleared.

Take your time. But say what you want about him. Injuries happen and the older you get the easier it happens. This ain’t a guy who got paid and is faking it..

Exactly, damn guys...show this dude his proper respect. We'll have to see how it shakes out...be kinda shocked if they make the younger Smith the swing tackle but anything is possible I suppose. Just want the best 5 out there like Jethro's kid accurately pointed out.

When he comes back are we going to move him back to LT?
Tyler is doing so well there. I would hate to mess up that chemistry and his learning curve.

Give him the same treatment Peters has (work him back slowly). See where we are at mid December.

Sounds like after the TG game is a reasonable expectation.

I’d be against breaking up a successful unit much later into the season than that.

Of course things may look a lot different by then, so I suppose we will see.

But getting him back isn’t a bad thing in any type of way. I’m actually pretty anxious to see him and Tyler play next to each other, even if it’s only for a few games….maybe that includes a playoff run!

There I go dreaming again. My fault.
