Shawne Merriman to miss preseason game with injury

Linebacker has Achilles' injury

San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman will be sidelined for this weekend's preseason game in all likelihood due to an old Achilles' injury.
Merriman just started practicing Monday, and the injury flared up Tuesday night.

“It’s tough, working my way back into it,” Merriman told the San Diego Union-Tribune. “I knew coming in that it’s a lot of work and we’d have to take it one day at a time.”

Merriman said rest typically solves the problem.
“The training staff does a great job recognizing what I have going on and helping me,” Merriman said. “It’s just one of those things you have to watch and maintain

I think it is funny how that debate has become one-sided and has pretty much fizzled out. I was one who was a little puzzled when we took Ware over Merriman, thank goodness I am not a GM
