Sheriff Goodell talks Pacman on Irvin Show - 6/12/08

They talk about the rookies going to the Hall of Fame, Pac, etc.

Criminy, first the rookies get all of that money before they've even played a down in the NFL, now they're going into the Hall of Fame before they've even played a down?

Oh, wait. You said "going TO the Hall of Fame," not going INTO the Hall of Fame.

Never mind.

What's sad is that D-Mac can buy the HOF and he has never even stepped on the field yet.

I see what you did there.

I never knew you could be sly

Look how many were drooling over Bush and how great he was going to be.

Why would the commissioner go on the Irvin show? Is he that bored in the offseason that he goes on local shows and bans players not even in the NFL. Someone should tell him to go on vacation and be quiet - he is hurting his image and the NFL.

The ESPN hype machine was working double time for Bush.

If the players were tested they were still in the league. Goodell is only doing what should have been done a long time ago. You may want to see the all thug league many others do not!! The only joke I see it guys getting 7,8 or 9 second chances. Sorry that is not being hard on a player most people in the real world do not get that many chances to get their act together.

You know alot of people thought the Bush hype was way overblown, if he'd gone to any other school (excluding Notre Dame). He'd have been an iffy top 10 pick.

The ESPN hype did get rolling, but all the others joined in and I don't remember any talking head agreeing with the Texans. I remember several on this board (self promotion), including me. That didn't know about Mario Williams, but we sure knew we wouldn't have wanted Reggie at that spot.

Coming out of College Bush was worth every bit of the hype.

Plus he is still a puppy and has shown a lot of flashes at times.

I expect him to have a big year this year.

Don't forget about Ricky Williams.......all I ever heard was how he was going to be the all time rushing leader before he was even drafted.

To be fair he was on pace to do so before the whole incident.

Ricky is a beast of a back and it is a shame that he could never get his head on straight. Granted, he has more than exceptable reasons being that he suffers from a true sickness, but the sport is a little less for him never hitting what he could have been..
