short passing game

last week Adam posted some stats showing that when drew connects on a medium of deep pass, we score.

well, from thos stats i rationalized that we dont have much at all in the way of a short passing game. And yesterday, in the rain, seattle took away any medium to deep pass except first drive, and sure enough, we didnt score after that except when ST and Def set us up for the 2 FG's.

You would think with a good defense, and the players to develop at least an average running game, that short passes mixed with some nice runs would be the way to eat up the clock and move the chains. But it is true we dont move the chains without passes of 8 or more yards, we need to do something to fix that.

besides that one game, we havent gotten witten involved much. he has the ability to easily catch 10 passes a game, yet we dont even give him that many looks a game. Witten can carry the team thru hard times, just let him do it.
also hopefully jj will get better at the short passing game over time. its a huge help to have and jj doesnt seem to be that good at it just yet. hopefully he develops that part of his game.
